the look of realization that the real world no longer lays outside the high school doors.
when one by one a number of students take in the actuality of what we have to deal with as a part of this world.
the feelings of comprehension and confusion jumble together inside all of our heads.
the disgust of the world we are becoming apart of frightens us more than we can debate.
Last period, j.buxton's class was full of laughs until the debate started about terrorists in the Middle East and the way we should react towards the current situations.
the debate started where one half of the class chose if they were for using force toward Pakistan and Afghanistan in the result of the need to find osama bin laden
& the other half was for reasoning and not using force as such a likely action.
j.bux was feeding information for both sides to debate with and clearing up misconceptions as the debate progressed.
finally he asked if we were to threaten Al-queda and the Taliban with nukes would that be appropriate or not.
as the class continued to toss around possible outcomes of what the possible outcome could be i dismissed it from my efforts with other thoughts of frustration.
i thought to myself about how unfortunate it is to have to learn about such a battle taking place. one we cannot handle, one we don't have all the answers to, and one we only know the crucial specifics about.
one that's bigger than just a drama situation.
one that can actually affect the way we live.
the bell rang.
the real world peak hole was shut.
